Osteoporosis is a bone disease that affects approximately two million Canadians, mostly women. It is characterized by a deterioration of bone tissue which compromises strength and is potentially crippling. It literally means “porous bones” and is not a normal part of aging.

Bone is living, ever-changing tissue. Research has shown that we can prevent or even reverse osteoporosis. Since there is typically a lack of outward symptoms, the importance of learning important clues and factors that can cause osteoporosis is critical.

Periodic assessments are conducted to evaluate your progress and recommend next steps. You can expect your balance, coordination, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and joint range of motion to improve.
