Falls are a leading cause of injury and disability among older adults; and once you fall, you are three times more likely to fall again. Balance is something that starts to decline much earlier than we think; for women this starts in their 40’s and for men it usually happens in their 60’s. People are at risk for falls for a variety of reasons such as, muscle weakness, visual and cognitive deficits, or neurological disorders such as dementia or multiple sclerosis.
